Jack and Jill competitions allow individuals to enter without a partner and demonstrate skills in spontaneous dancing with a variety of partners. During the preliminary contest, Leaders and Followers are randomly paired. Contestants will be dancing with multiple partners and are scored individually. Those scoring the highest will be called back later to dance in a final contest. In the final, individuals are randomly paired and then scored as a couple.
WSDC points will be granted based on the number of competitors in each division. You can compete in either role, Follower or Leader. To be able to compete in both roles, you need to compete in different divisions.

To celebrate Finnfest's 10th anniversary, we are organizing a Pro-Am competition on Sunday evening!
Pro-Am refers to “an amateur” (Am) partnering with “a professional” (Pro) dancer.
The competition format is otherwise similar to Saturday's Jack and Jill, i.e. the leaders and followers are paired randomly etc., but one partner will always be a professional and the other will be an amateur.
‘Pro’ dancers in this competition are the Finnfest staff (teachers) and All Star dancers. If needed, we may also invite a few Advanced dancers to join them.
You are allowed to compete as an ‘Am’, if your competition level in Saturday Jack and Jill competitions in Finnfest 2025 is Newcomer, Novice or Intermediate, in the dance role in which you compete in the Pro-Am.
Since the number of ‘Pro’ dancers attending will set a limit on the total number of ‘Am’ entries in this contest (around 36 dancers/role), each dancer can only compete in one role, either as a leader or a follower.
The competition fee is 15 euro/dancer.
Pre-registration for 'Am' competitors opens on Tuesday 16th September at 20.00 EEST.
Please prepare to write your name, role (leader, follower), email and WSDC number if you have one.
