Registration information

We are so happy you want to join us this year! Here’s some information that is good to know before you enter the registration form.

We want you to have the best time at our event and one way to do this is to balance the leaders and followers. If you register as a couple you will automatically be accepted to the event (as long as we still have tickets available). If you register without a partner we will accept your registration as soon as someone with the opposite dance role has registered. Until then you will be put on a waiting list.

After you have registered for the event we need a few days to process the registration. You will either receive a confirmation stating you have been confirmed to the event or that you have been put on the waiting list. Registering through the form does not automatically guarantee you a spot at the event.

We have 100 tickets for the early bird price and after that the remaining tickets for the normal bird price. So prepare yourself and be ready to register when the registration starts!

If you are registering with a partner, you will need the name of your partner and both of you need to register separately. DanceApp also offers couple registration with one entry and payment. So if you are not from the same household, registering separately could be wiser.

Passes won from other events are party passes. You still need a partner to secure a spot. Otherwise you will be added to the waiting list.

Group discount is only available to international dancers. In case you wish to be a group leader, send us a message through social media or email (grooveconnection.wcs@gmail.com).

All Star - Free pass in exchange for judging assistance and social dancing. Available for the first 20 registrations (10 leaders + 10 follows).

Please note that by submitting your registration you agree to our Terms and Conditions and Code of Coduct.

Terms and Conditions

You are responsible for providing us accurate contact information so that we can reach you.

Couple registrations will have priority over single registrations.

Single registrations are confirmed in order of receiving them after being paired with single registrations of the opposite dance role.

You can transfer your spot to someone else, but please note that you are transferring your spot and your dance role – leader is replaced by a leader and follower by a follower.

A couple does not need to register to the same level.

In order to enter level 4 or 5 you must provide us your WSDC number.

If you register for level 4 or 5 and do not have the correct qualification and/or do not provide your WSDC number you will automatically be placed to level 3 with the possibility to audition for higher levels.

Please note that the event organizer does not have an insurance covering the event participants. Please make sure you have your own accident insurance.

Once you have been accepted, you will receive a registration confirmation and payment instructions by email. Please note that you may need to check your spam folder.

To confirm your registration and secure your spot, payment is due within 14 days after you have been accepted to the event. If you do not pay within the date stated in the confirmation email, we have the right to put you on the waiting list.

If you need an extension to the due date of the payment, please contact us at grooveconnection.wcs@gmail.com.

If you have done a couple registration and one of the parties has not paid the invoice in time, the other party will be put on the waiting list. If the paid party (on the waiting list) does not get matched with the opposite dance role the payment will be refunded, with the exception of an administrational cost.

The registration is binding and tickets are non-refundable. Once the registration has been confirmed, cancellation is not possible. Please note that missing payment is not a cancellation.

You can transfer your spot to someone else, but please note that you are transferring your spot and your dance role – leader is replaced by a leader and follower by a follower. If you would like to transfer your pass to another person in the same role, please contact us at grooveconnection.wcs@gmail.com.

Finnfest reserves the right to change the schedule and instructors if necessary.

Unfortunate and surprising changes regarding schedule, teachers and other contents of the Event are informed mainly on Facebook.

The event will be documented - photographs and videos will be taken. By taking part in the event you grant the organizers full rights to use the images resulting from the photography/video filming, and any reproductions or adaptations of the images and videos for marketing, publicity or other purposes. This might include (but is not limited to), the right to use them in printed and online publicity, social media, press releases and advertisements.

If you do not wish to be photographed please inform the organizers.

You are only allowed to enter the Strictly Nov/Int competition if you are in WSDC Newcomer, Novice or Intermediate. Strictly Open is open for all dancers.

You can enter up to 2 Jack & Jill contests by the new WSDC rule (WSDC Newsletter #20 [May 2021])
